SPOILERS!!!
Even though Roxy is very hurt by Dave's cheating and has many doubts about what to do, she finally decides to forgive him, and she and the children return home. The first few weeks Dave is away working, and Roxy continues driving her clients, and she feels at ease with a new regular client, Ivo Lehane.
When Roxy finds an old photograph of a young child in her car, she shows it to her mother. Selina then tells him that the story she told him about her father and his first girlfriend didn't finish there. Just after Selina had her son Aidan, Estelle contacted Christy, claiming that he got her pregnant and had given birth to a boy. Apparently, Estelle got married, but her husband was cruel to her, suspecting that the child wasn't his, so she hoped that Christy could help her. But Christy was already married, but Selina later discovered that he had given her their savings for their home. Rosy's mother tells her that at the time she was hurt at the time, but her husband was a good man and she forgave him.
After Roxy returns home, she tells Dave about her intention to keep driving. He is not very supportive, stating that it won't work as they have the children to think of. What he thinks they should do is sell the Mercedes. Yet, Roxy is adamant to keep the business, and she even talks to an accountant and goes to a course about new enterprises.
Dave starts getting suspicious of Ivo when he finds a bottle of perfume in the glove compartment. Roxy tells him that it was originally a present for his girlfriend but he had no room in his hand luggage, so she kept it for him, but a few weeks later he told her to keep it for herself. Dave says that the man is not trustworthy and says that he might even be a mule, travelling to and from the continent to smuggle drugs in. That is why he is not pleased when Ivo hires Roxy to drive him for three days, one of which would mean staying overnight in a hotel. Yet, Roxy wants to do it because it is good money and it is an interesting job.
The night she stays in the hotel, she finds Ivo at the bar and they talk together. It is nice for her to have that conversation and when Ivo escorts her to her room, Roxy realises that if he wants to come into her room, she won't mind. But Ivo goes. The next day when they are on their way back to Dublin, they have a close shave. There is lorry which carries bales of hay and tyres, and at some point the bales fall off the lorry and one of the tyres, and Roxy has to veer suddenly, but thankfully, she manages to avoid the tyres. The police come and after they answer their questions, they continue their way. At the airport Ivo is worried because Roxy is shaken after the incident on the road. At some point he hugs her and gives her a clumsy kiss on her chin, and then he is gone.
I am enjoying reading about Roxy and her determination to build her business as a driver. What I don't like about her is her attitude towards her husband, who clearly takes her for someone easy to dominate. And I don't like how she starts having unprofessional ideas about Ivo.
