A young man who works as a mechanic decides to go to the cinema one evening. The usherette is a red-headed woman who he finds very attractive. After the film finishes, he waits for the staff to finish and he follows the girl, who gets on a bus. The young man sits next to her, and she is not upset to have been followed, but welcomes his company and even lets him hug her. At the end of the line they stop and she says that this is where the cemetery is. The woman then takes him to a canteen where there are men having a drink and one of them is a RAF pilot. After that, the woman takes him to the cemetery and she lies down on a grave. They talk and she says that her parents were killed in the Blitz and all military pilots are murderers. Then she tells him to leave, and even though he is reluctant to do so, he finally goes.
The next day, smitten, the man goes to buy her a brooch, and then when he returns to the cinema, one of the other usherettes tells him that she hasn't been in, and some policemen came to talk to the boss about her. Then the man learns that the girl is wanted for killing the pilot that the night before they saw in the pub.
This was a strange tale, but it was interesting.
