When Octavia first discovers that Tom is having an affair is when she realises that he lied about where he stayed in Leamington Spa. Leamington Spa is a town in central England. Set on the winding River Leam, it’s known for its Regency architecture and broad boulevards.
The day she discovers that Tom has been unfaithful, she has to go to Ascott where she has to socialise with Tom, their acquaintances and his clients. From there they see the royal procession. The Royal Procession is a tradition at Royal Ascot that has been around since 1825.It was started by King George IV who led four other carriages with members of the Royal party up the Straight Mile and then paraded in front of spectators before taking his position to watch.
