SPOILERS!!!
I found the last part of the book dull. It is about Charmian and Houdini having a relationship and Charmian feeling loved and in control. Her only problem is that she is fond of Bessie and feels guilty. When Bessie and Charmian attend one of Houdini's numbers, a dangerous escape act in the River Hudson, Charmian realises that Bessie knows about her and her husband, but she doesn't seems to care. It is after the dangerous act that Charmian decides to return home, and that is the end of the novel.
I liked the part about Charmian and Jack, but the book lost interest in this part about Houdini.
