SPOILERS!!!
Kirsty drops by Ben's shop to have some flyers printed. NEWT has auditions for children to play in the pantomime. Thea is there, and Kirsty encourages her to take part. So on Saturday Ben takes Thea to the theatre and she gets a part. The thing is that Thea has a wonderful voice, and for the first time she seems to find something interesting, and she even befriends some of the other children.
Trevor, who was to play Buttons, has an accident in one of the rehearsals and as a consequence, he is unable to continue in the play. Jon then has to find a replacement. When Ben goes to pick up Thea from a rehearsal, Jon sees him. Ben and Jon were together at school, and Jon doesn't have good memories of him. He used to mock him, and when they were older, Ben dated a girl called Charlie, and Jon stole her away. Now Ben asks him to replace Trevor because years ago he took part in plays at school and university. At first Ben turns down the offer, but then Thea asks her to accept, and he does. Apart from humouring his daughter, Ben also feels the allure of working alongside Kirsty, who he feels more and more attracted to. And then he learns that she and Jon are item and he feels terribly disappointed.
Kirsty's relationship with Jon is not a bed of roses. He keeps reminding her that she has huge feet and needs to lose weight. And now he wants to accept a job for an all-men theatrical company in Dubai, which means that Kirsty won't be able to follow him in a country where things for women are difficult. Kirsty is annoyed because she left her good job with the cruise company to do this pantomime, and it seems that he doesn't care about her prospects. I just hope that Kirsty leaves him and realises that she needs a man like Ben.
