Nadie podrá quererle como yo 3 (Pages 244 - 296)

 SPOILERS!!!

Candamo keeps investigating. When he interviews the royal doctors, they react with hostility and tell him that the queen's doctor, Mancini, has left for Italy even though the king told him not to leave Madrid. This proves to him that there is something more to the queen's death than meets the eye, and the king is right to suspect. Then he talks to the apothecary, who confirms that during the postmortem some of the organs showed suspicious signs, and he was present when the doctors agreed on one sole explanation and threatened Mancini if he recanted.

After that, he also talks to the queen's fools, who tell him about the last time the queen ate, and they mention oysters and iced milk that some noble men/women supplied, and he wonders if some of these people may have poisoned the food. And surprisingly, he is summoned by the Duke of Frias, who tells him to stop asking around, and he tells him about a niece who he loves like a daughter, and whose death he clearly blamed the queen for. The niece used to ride with the queen, but she couldn't keep up with Maria Luisa when she galloped, and one day the horse threw and killed her. Frias says that he had to exercise forgiveness, but I wonder if this is a motive for wanting the queen dead.
