New Book - Death At Whitewater Church - Inishowen Mysteries 1 - by Andrea Carter (Pages 1 - 45)

 First Published: 2015

Ben O'Keefe is a solicitor;she and her colleague Paul Doherty are asked by an estate agent to examine a desecrated church, which he is going to sell. Paul is not very happy, and after looking around to compare the place with the map Ben has, they find a crypt, and there they find a skeleton wrapped in a carpet.

Ben calls Sergeant Tom Molloy, who is a friend of hers, and he starts his investigation. The place in Donegal where they live is small, and soon the news spreads. Ben's drama club think that the skeleton may be that of Conor Devitt, the brother of Claire, who is part of the drama club. Conor went missing six years ago just before the wedding.

When Ben talks to Tom, he tells her that the skeleton seems to have been buried somewhere else because there are traces of earth which was not found in the church. Ben finds it strage that under the skeleton's head there was a pillow.

The pathologist that has come to work on the bones is a woman, and Ben recognises her at once. It seems that there was a story with this pathologist in the past, and Ben is nervous about being recognised.

I think the beginning was interesting. Some of the characters act a bit over the top but the plot has hooked my interest.
