SPOILERS!!!
The plot is growing in intensity and intrigue. I am really curious.
Melanie asks David to take her to see Larry Digger because she wants to know if what he told her was true. Digger tells her that his investigation has led him to understand that her mother did everything to take her from her cruel father and protect her. He also says that there is a midwife who had information but she had been threatened into silence, and Melanie is shocked to discover that the person threatening him was Jamie, her godfather.
Then there is a knock at the door, and Digger goes to open. Before anyone knows what is happening, Digger is shot, and the man at the doro points at David and Melanie, and he reacts quickly, dragging Melanie to duck and hide behind the sofa. David identifies himself as FBI and shoots, hitting hte man in the hand. The man flees and David and Melanie come out of their hideout, and David calls the police. The man who shot at them was someone who was at the lobby, reading hte newspaper, and later they learn that the man was in the hotel for two days, and it seems he was expecting to shoot Digger and Melanie dead, and he didn't expect a third person.
Melanie is very upset and angry with David, and when they go out of the hotel, there is a horde of journalist waiting,and David manages to hide her identity by covering her with his coat and dragging her to a car.
I am totally intrigued and wonder who wants Melanie dead and why. And what are the Stokes hiding?
