The Yacht Party - Facts


 Lara, the main character, lives in a houseboat in Cadogan Pier, Chelsea. Cadogan Pier is a pier on the River Thames in London. It is located on the North Bank of the river, immediately next to the Albert Bridge on Cheyne Walk near Chelsea Embankment. 


Le Caché, the investigative corporation, has its headquarters in Shoreditch in London. Shoreditch is an arty area adjacent to the equally hip neighborhood of Hoxton. 



Sandrine lived in Montmartre. Montmartre is a large hill in Paris's northern 18th arrondissement. It is 130 m high and gives its name to the surrounding district, part of the Right Bank. Montmartre is primarily known for its artistic history, for the white-domed Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur on its summit, and as a nightclub district.


Simon, Jonathon's brother, lives in Cobham,which is where Lara goes to see him. Cobham is a village in the Borough of Elmbridge in Surrey, centred 27 km south-west of London.


Lara goes to Monaco where Jonathon's yacht is. The yacht is moored in CAp d'Ail. Cap-d'Ail  is a seaside commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France.


Lara stays in Roquebrune while in Monaco. Roquebrune-Cap-Martin is a commune in the Alpes-Maritimes department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, Southeastern France, between Monaco and Menton. 

For Alex's birthday Lara gives him a shemagh. The  shemagh is a traditional headdress worn by men from parts of the Middle East.


Helen volunteered to go to Port-au-Prince in Haiti. Port-au-Prince is the capital and most populous city of Haiti.

Rebecca, Helen's friend, fled to Ullapool in Scotland, afraid of the consequences of what she knows. Ullapool is a village and port located in Northern Scotland. Ullapool has a population of approximately 1,500 inhabitants. It is located around 45 miles northwest of Inverness.
