A Scandal In Bohemia - Facts

 

The story starts on 20 March 1888. Sherlock can tell that the person who will visit him is from Bohemia because of the paper of his note. Bohemia is the westernmost and largest historical region of the Czech Republic. Bohemia can also refer to a wider area consisting of the historical Lands of the Bohemian Crown ruled by the Bohemian kings, including Moravia and Czech Silesia, in which case the term refers to the historical cultural and political space of the Czech people.

New Book - The Sign of Four - Sherlock Holmes 2 - by Arthur Conan Doyle (Pages 1 - 27)

 

First Published: February 1, 1890

In the first chapter of this book we find Holmes and Watson at home. Holmes injects heroine, which Watson disapproves of, and Holmes claims that he needs some stimulant when he is bored. Then they receive the visit of a woman who introduces herself as Mary Morstan.

New Book - A Study in Scarlet - Sherlock Holmes 1 - by Arthur Conan Doyle (Pages 1 - 33)

 

First Published: December 27, 1887

This is the first Sherlock Holmes novel written by Arthur Conan Doyle. The narrator is Dr Watson, and he explains that in 1878  after serving the Northumberland Fusiliers, he was wounded in Afghanistan in the war, so he was sent back to England.
