We Solve Murders - Characters

These are the characters in the novel for furthere reference:

• Amy Wheeler is a bodyguard whose life is threatened when influencers that have been clients in the company are murdered. Amy is married to Adam, and she has a very close relationship with her father-in-law, Steve. Amy manages to get Adam's help to solve the murders. At the end of the book she decides to run her own detective agency, and Steve agrees to be her partner.
• Steve Wheeler is Amy's father-in-law. Steve used to be a copper, and she and his wife moved to a village in the New Forest when he retired. Then Debbie died, and he misses her terribly. He regularly talks to her by leaving messages on a dictaphone, and he feels that she responds to him. Steve likes his routine in his village where he has his detective agency, but the cases are quite simple. When Amy distorts his routine by asking him to help her and travel to North Carolina, he is not happy, but he relents. Steve is very peculiar but has a way with people. At the end of the book he reluctantly admits that he liked all the travelling they did, and he agrees to be Amy's partner in her detective agency.
• Rosie D'Antonio is the client that Amy is hired to protect when a Russian oligarch threatens to kill her as she used him in one of her books in an unflattering way. Rosie is a best-selling author, and she is funny, determined and fresh in her opinions. When Amy's life is threatened, she does not hesitate to follow and help her. At the end of the book she agrees to invest in Amy's detective agency, and she starts a relationship with Eddie, the man who was hired to kill Amy. 
• Trouble is Max's cat. He is a stray cat that found a home at Steve's.
• Jeff Nolan is Amy's boss. To protect himself he fakes his death, and when he reappears, he then starts to suspect Amy, but Amy shoots him and proves that the crook in the company is Susan.
• Henk van Veen is Jeff's former partner. He left the company because he did not like Jeff having dealings with Loubet. At the end of the book when everything is solved, he and Jeff become partners agin.
• Adam Wheeler is Amy's wife. He is in finances and travels a lot. He and his father have an awkward relationship as they feel unable to talk about Debbie.
• François Loubet/Mickey Moody is the villain in the novel. He is the biggest money smuggler, and he started using the services of Maximum Impact to smuggle money throughout the influencers he recommended. When Jeff realised what was happening, he sent him threatening emails and then he started killing the influences. Steven discovers that Loubet is leading a peaceful life in Dubai and his real name is Mickey Moody, a man who apparently is happy with just playing golf.
• John Todd is one of Steve's friends at tehe pub. He used to write in a newspaper.
• Tony Tailor is another of Steve's friends. He is a mechanic, and he helps Steve to investigate Felicity. He and Felicity hit if off and become an item.
• Dr Jyoti Das is another friend of Steve's. She is a doctor of medieval history. 
• Felicity Wooleston (72) has an agency for artists, and then Susan and Loubet use her agency as a cover, and Felicity does not suspect anything until Tony talks to her. Felicity and Tony hit it off and they become an item. 
• Rob Kenna is Loubet's murder broker. He lives in Dubai pretending to be a DJ. When he fails to get Amy killed, Loubet/Mickey kills him. 
• Max Highfield is a famous actor who hired the services of Maximum Impact. He is quite conceited, and Susan  makes it look as if he were the one contacting Loubet. 
• Jenny Bright owns a shop in the village and notices that some money is missing, so she asks Steve to look into the matter. Steve realises that it is her daughter who steals the money, but Steve keeps quiet about it because he knows there is a reason why the girl is doing it. 
• Mollie Bright is Jenny's daughter, and she admits to Steve that she stole the money because Lauren from school threatened her to do her harm if she did not give her money. Steve gives her the money from a case so that she can replace what she stole.
• Lauren Gough is the girl who bullied Mollie into giving her money, and that is why she stole the money. Steve gives his father a good lecture, and at the end of the book Lauren and Mollie become good friends.
• Gary Gough is Lauren's father. He is a crook and used to smuggle cocaine. 
• Bonnie Gregor is a woman who gets quite a lot of followers to her Instagram account about painting. So she wonders if she could start a career as an influencer. So she goes to see Felicity. Soon she gets a job offer to go to Sao Paola and take a bag there. Thankfully, Felicity and Tony save her from taking that plane and becoming a victim. 
• Eddie Flood is Bob Kenna's old friend, who he asks to kill Amy, and he follows her everywhere, but he fails to kill her. At the end of the book Eddie approaches Rosie to ask advice about writing his book, and they become lovers. 
• Carlos Moss is the security officer in the airport in North Carolina. He is a hard nut to crack, but Steve manages to befriend him. He helps Steve and fools Eddie into thinking that Amy and the others travelled to Hawaii. 
• Margaret is Steve's neighbour who looks after his cat when he goes away. 
• Susan Knox was the head of HR in Maximum Impact. She turns out to be Joe Blow, the person contacting Loubet and starting the plan with the influencers. Amy finds her out and she is arrested. 
• Vasily Karpin is the Russian chemicals oligarch who threatens to kill Rosie because she included him in one of her books and described him unflatteringly. At the end Vasily tells Rosie that everything is okay, and his sister-in-law threatened to kill him if he did anything ro Rosie, who is her favourite author. 
• Barb (80) is Rosie's friend who Rosie and Amy stay for a while when they leave the island in North Carolina. Barb used to deal in drugs but now she is some kind of yoga guru. 
• Ferdy is the taxi driver in St Lucia. He says that he is also a politician but he lost the elections. 
• Nelson Nunez is the drug dealer in St Lucia who Rosie, Amy and Steve go to talk to about the influencer who was killed. Rob Kenna asks him to kill Amy, but thankfully, Steve disarms him and they flee. 
• Linda is Steve's old colleague in the Hampshire police.
• Ken is the driver who takes Steve to the airport.
• Saskia is the pilot of Rosie's private plane.
• Brad is the flight attendant of Rosie's private plane.
• Kevin is a former navy SEAL who Rosie hired as a chef. Kevin tried to kill Amy, but thankfully, Rosie outsmarted him when she hit him with an Oscar statuette and locked him in her panic room.
• Andrew Fairbanks is the influencer who is killed in North Carolina. He was shot and then tied upside down from the yacht he was on, and some sharks attacked the body. Faribanks was a fitness instructor.
• Debbie Wheeler was Steve's wife. She died in a train accident.
• Bella Sanchez is the influencer who was killed in St Lucia. She used to be an actress and an influencer.
• Mark Gooch was a financial influencer and he was murdered in Ireland. 
• Courtney Lewis was another influencer, but she was arrested in Dubai. Then he was killed in prison. 
• Justin Scroogie is the sheriff in North Carolina who helped to get Fairbanks dead. He is also murdered. 
• Mimi and Maxie are Bonnie's children.
