Napoleon en Chamartín 4 - The End (Chapters 27 - end)

Gabriel reaches the Pardo Palace, wanting to warn Amaranta about what Diego intended, but he only finds the Marquis, who tells him that Amaranta is in Moncloa. The man thinks that Gabriel is his French cousin and wants to know about Napoleon. Some more men come and Gabriel tries to asnwer their questions the best way he can. Then Don Felipe leaves him alone and tells him that his daughter, Ines, will come and see him. When she doesn't appear, Gabriel decides to go and find her even though he promised Amaranta that he wouldn't see her again.

Gabriel finds Ines in her room, praying, and Ines is shocked to find him alive. Then the two youngsters hug and profess each other their love. Gabriel confesses that he had sworn not to see her again as he feels he is nothing but a poor man and now she is a rich lady. Yet, he says that he can't deny he loves her. Gabriel also tells her about what Diego told him, and she says that he is worse than she thought. They speak long, and the maids start to come, curious to know what she is doing with this man. Gabriel decides to leave, but then alaerted by the maids, don Felipe manages to lock him in a room. Then Amaranta arrives and she is very angry because he has seen Ines, and now the girl knows that he is alive. Amaranta is quite crude in her insults, but she stops when Gabriel tells her that whatever he does, he won't be able to stop loving Ines, and at the mention of the fact that Ines is not happy, Amarata goes very still, and she admits that he is right.

Then the police come and Gabriel is taken prisoner, and in the last chapter he is taking in a line of prisoners on their way to France. And now what will happen to Gabriel?
