The book starts in North Carolina where Rosie has her private island. North Carolina  is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Virginia to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, South Carolina to the south, Georgia to the southwest, and Tennessee to the west. 

Steve, Amy's father-in-law, lives in a village in the New Forest. The New Forest is one of the largest remaining tracts of unenclosed pasture land, heathland and forest in Southern England, covering southwest Hampshire and southeast Wiltshire. 

Felicity has her agency in Letchworth Garden City. Letchworth Garden City, commonly known as Letchworth, is a town in the North Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire. 

St Lucia is where one of the influencers is killed. Saint Lucia is an Eastern Caribbean island nation with a pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast. Its coast is home to volcanic beaches, reef-diving sites, luxury resorts and fishing villages. 

Cork is another city where the characters investigate another murder. Cork is the second-largest city in Ireland.

The villain is a man who Steve finds in Dubai. Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene.
