New Book - Acceptable Loss - William Monk 17 - by Anne Perry (Pages 1 - 11)

In the last book William investigated the kidnapping of orphan children, and his little friend, Scuff, almost died. 


After that, William and Hester took him in. Now Scuff continues having nightmares, and Hester is worried because the boy feels guilty that he survived and his friends did not. Monk thinks that he needs to do something. In his investigation he discovered that Arthur Ballinger, Oliver's father-in-law, was involved but had no evidence. So now he is willing to find justice for Scuff and Arthur Ballinger.
