Brigid and her husband Carlo live in Tucson, Arizona. It is the second-largest city in Arizona behind Phoenix, with a population of 542,629.
One of Brigid's dogs gets sick when he ingests a Colorado river toad. The Colorado River toad is a toad species found in northwestern Mexico and the southwestern United States. It is well known for its ability to exude toxins from glands within its skin that have psychoactive properties. Dogs that have attacked toads have suffered paralysis or even death.
Carlo and Brigid attended services in the Episcopalian Church. The Episcopal Church is a member church of the worldwide Anglican Communion based in the United States with additional dioceses elsewhere. The church was organized after the American Revolution, when it became separate from the Church of England.
