Mihaela works as a cleaner in Paris.
When she is finishing for one of her clients, she gets a text from another client, David Bullimore, telling her that she is on his way back, and all he needs is sleep, so there is no need to clean. Mihaela blanches to realise that she is in big trouble. As she knew that David was away, she agreed to let one of her friends, Kiki, use the apartment for Daria's twenty-first birthday. That was the day before, and they ended up too drunk to clean, so the apartment where David Bullimoure is heading is in a mess, and he is one of her most pernickety clients.
Mihaela rushes to the apartment, fully aware that she is late. When she reaches the place, she sees David leaving a taxi, and then there is an uproar when a body falls next to him. Someone has jumped from the building. Mihaela takes the opportunity to go into the apartment from the servants' entrance. And then a man appears who threatens her.
This is an interesting start. I am certain it is going to be a very exciting read.
