The Scholar 4 - The End (Pages 298 - end)

RATING: VERY GOOD

SPOILERS!!!

Cormac goes to find Emma, and when he shows her doubts, Emma becomes upset. Cormac realises that he has been wrong to have doubts. Cormac takes her to a lawyer, and he is certain that the person who killed the women is James Murtagh, the head of the lab. When Carline was killed, Emma was in the lab until late, and James was there too, and he could have taken her car keys. James's alibi lay on the fact that she was away in a hotel with his wife.

Cormac talks to his colleagues, and Peter manages to find a garage in the north where Murtagh took his car to fit the dent that it had after running over Della. And the police also contact the hotel where Murtagh and his wife stayed, and the waitress that served dinner to the couple in the room says that when she went to the room to serve the food, the wife was alone.

James Murtagh is arrested and Emma's name is cleared. Yet, Emma is still upset that Cormac thought she could have killed these women, and she asks him to move out of the house. Yet, she finally lets him back, and Cormac knows that he will have to prove that he deserves to be trusted.

A very good read.
