New Book - Valentine's Day 1946 - Sequel to the Christmastime Series - by Linda Mahkovec (Pages 1- 18)

 First Published: 2023

This is a sequel to the sweet Christmastime series.

In the first chapter Lillian is preparing some Valentine's cards for her sister and her sister-in-law. We discover that her friend, Izzy, is in London with Red, who in the last book discovered was not married any longer. Lillian doesn't know how things with Red are, but she hopes that Izzy is happy.

Gabriel, her youngest son, is working in the curio shop for Mr G. The man is worried that the sales are not as good as they should, and Gabriel comes up with the idea of having an event, some kind of party.

Kate, Lillian's sister-in-law, now has all her family with her on the farm except for the one who was killed. Now Jimmy is also married, and his wife is Gladys. They are now arguing with Jessica because the young woman has the idea of playing matchmaking with Mr Abe Creigh and Mrs Fletcher. She tried to pair them at Jimmy's wedding, but things didn't go well. Now she insists, and the family think that she should stay put. Mr Creigh was the guard who brought the prisoners to the farm and who helped Ursula to say goodbye to Friedrich. Ursula knows that the man is unhappy after his son died in the war, and once she found him trying to shoot himself. Yet, he thinks that the last thing Abe wants is to have a woman in his life.

This is an interesting start. I loved the Chrismastime series, and I am sure I am going to enjoy this one as well.
