SPOILERS!!!
I have to say that even though the book was intense and exciting, I lost interest at the end because I found it too long.
Erin spies the killers, and she realises that Dimitri is not the person she tought was behind the attack, but Marissa. Noticing that the yacht is sinking, she manages to close the gates and turns off the pipes. Then she manages to activate the mechanism in the panic room and liberates the family and Kai. Erin tells them about Aleksander and Marissa, and she says that they are on a boat waiting for the yacht to sink. When they realise they are not sinking, they will attack again.
Erin has a plan, and they use the petrol from the yacht and the fireworks that the family had, so when the other boat approaches, they attack, and the boat is destroyed. They think that Marissa and Aleksander are dead, but they are wrong. They reappear and threaten to kill them. However, Stepan says that they can come up with a story about pirates attacking them, and Marissa comes around the idea. Yet, she kills Aleksander.
Erin and Kai realise that they are in danger because of what they know. Stepan needs to redeem himself to the Russian government. The reason he was the aim of this attack was that he and some others had been conspiring against the Russian government. Erin and Kai realise that now Stepan will go against them. When Zina announces that there is a boat approaching, Erin and Kai rush to the deck, and they discover that it is the boat that almost collided with the yacht days ago. They jump into the water, and they reach the boat while Marissa and Stepan shoot at them. Thankfully, they are rescued.
I think that the story should have finished there, but it continued, and I have to say that I skipped many parts. Erin and Kai tell Lucy and Jacob about what happened. They arrive in Martinica, and they know that they are not safe yet. Erin and Kai have become close, but when they go out for a drink with Lucy and Jacob, Erin sees Lucy kiss Kai, and she gets jealous, so she decides to leave the town without even saying goodbye.
Days later Lucy is afraid when she tells Kai that Jacob is dead. It seems that Jacob tried to use what he knew about Stepan to blackmail him. Kai also notices that there is a man who is following him, a man working for Stepan. What happens is that fleeing from him, the man who is after him is shot by the police, and they agree to pretend that it was Kai who has died. So months later Kai finally find Erin, and they start their life in common.
