The Maid 3 - The End (Pages 147 - end)

RATING: GOOD

SPOILERS!!!

Molly finds himself in deep water when the police arrest her for murder. The day before she had hidden Giselle's gun in her vacuum cleaner, and when she found Mr Black's ring, she pawned it. Foolishly, she told Rodney everything. The police charge her with murder, possession of a gun and drugs. Molly claims to be innocent, but evidence is against her, especially as now the tests prove that Mr Black died of axphysiation. Mr Preston, the doorman, who used to be Molly's gran's friend, turns up with his daughter, Charlotte, who is a lawyer. Charlotte manages to ge Molly released on bail.

Back in her apartment, Molly tells Charlotte and Mr Preston everything: about Giselle's request to find her gun, about Rodney's interest, about Juan Manuel and the men she found. Charlotte thinks that Mr Black operated a drug ring from the hotel and Rodney was his accomplice. They need Juan Manuel to confirm what they suspect. Molly calls Juan Manuel, who agrees to go to the aparatment. Juan Manuel says that Rodney promised to get his permit regulated through a lawyer he is friends with , but he used the money and there was no permit. Then he forced him to work for him and his thugs, cutting the drug, and they used Molly's naivete and innocence to cooperate. Juan Manuel shows his arms that are burnt, which is how they forced him to work for them, and they also threatened to kill his family back in Mexico.

The four of them come up with a plan to catch Rodney. Molly is to call him and meet him, and tell him a story. So that is what she does. Molly tells Rodney that the police do not suspect her, but they think that the murderer is in the hotel, and they plan to search the room again. Rodney panics because he asked Molly to hide a bag under the bed in Mr Black's suite. So when Rodney rushes into the hotel, using a key that Molly has given him, Molly messages Charlotte, who calls the police. Rodney is caught red-handed and arrested. Then all charges against Molly are dropped.

Molly and Juan Manuel are reinstated in their respective jobs at the hotel, and Molly is even promoted to head cleaner. During the trial she surprises Charlotte by saying that the day Mr Black died, he saw a shadow behind her, holding a pillow, but she did not see his face, but it is clear that she means Rodney. From Molly's memories we discover that when her grandmother was in great pain due to her disease, she asked Molly to end her suffering, and Molly suffocated with a pillow.

Molly and Juan Manuel have become an item and live together. Molly can now afford the rent thanks to sharing costs and the promotion. And then she gets a transfer of ten thousand dollars from the Cayman Islands, and she understands that it is from Giselle. Before Rodney's arrest, Molly phoned Giselle to warn her, and she fled. Giselle was asked to testify against Rodney, but she refused. And then the last surprise comes from Molly reliving the day Mr Black was dead. It is true that she saw someone holding a pillow, but it was not Rodney. Molly fainted and when she came to, she saw the first Mrs Black. It seems she came to talk to her ex-husband, and he tried to hit her, but she managed to outsmarted him and suffocated him. Molly decided to help her escape, and then she cleaned everything so there was no evidence against Mrs Black. I have to say that I found this surprise unbelievable. I don't like Molly helping a murderer in this way.

In general the book was entertaining and I loved Molly, but there are parts that I did not enjoy like Molly suffocating her gran, or Molly helping the murderer.
