SPOILERS!!!
The two families arrive at the palazzo in Italy where they are to spend the holiday. However, they cannot leave the problems behind.
Alice keeps her overprotective attitude towards Sam, which makes her older son drift away from her, and she does not seem to realise. Apart from that, neither she nor Guy make an effort to be kind to each other, and Alice is very careful with money, and even though she is on holiday, she refuses to spend and treat herself and her family.
Guy is also upset because the battery of his mobile phone is flat and Alice has not packed the charger. That means he can't talk to Peanut.
As for the Dobsons, Nina had many misgivings about this trip with Joe's children. The trip started badly when Freya was sick all over her. So when they arrived at the palace, she had to stay with the baby. Nina hates that Joe seems to be having fun with his older children, and she isn't. Yet, things gradually change and she seems to start appreciating Saul and Tabitha. Yet, she is now worried. A man who she has seen around looks like the man who she had an affair with three years ago, but she is not sure. The important bit is that Nina has a huge secret. Freya is not Joe's daughter, but the result of Nina's unfaithfulness.
I am enjoying the book and the humour that it is so full of.
