Cuentos Victorianos de Fantasmas para Navidad 8 - How Peter Parley Laid a Ghost - Facts

The main character and narrator came from a magazine 'Peter Parley's Magazine'. Parley's Magazine, founded by Samuel G. Goodrich (the children's author "Peter Parley") in 1833, was a highly popular 19th-century American periodical for youth, filled with educational content like geography, history, natural science, fables, and moral tales, heavily illustrated with woodcuts, and merged with Merry's Museum in 1844. It aimed to be an entertaining and instructive resource, featuring varied articles and stories, though Goodrich eventually disassociated himself from it due to editorial changes.
