A Christmas Odyssey 2 - The End (Pages 90 - end)

RATING: OKAY

SPOILERS!!!

I didn't enjoy this novella too much. I found it too dark and depressing.

After their searching and trying to find Sadie or Niccolo, the men realise that there is another woman other than Sadie. They confirm that her name is Rosa and has eyes of different colour. What they eventually conclude is that the person who was murdered was Rosa, and there was too much blood for just one body, so the second victim was Niccolo. Henry thinks that Ash, one of the men they have met in this world, is Rosa's father as he has similar eyes to Rosa, and he must have murdered Niccolo, who killed Rosa. Ash confesses that Henry is true, and Henry and the others agree to bury Rosa in Christian ground.

When they are carrying Rosa, Shadwell appears and they won't let them carry on. Lucien volunteers to stay with him when he threatens to take Bessie. When they go, Henry is not happy as he wants to save Lucien. His idea is to use fire. Shadwell lives in some of the tunnels running below London, and Ash shows them the way. Henry finds Shadwell with Lucien and Sadie. In the end Henry saves Lucien while the flames destroy the part where Shadwell and sadie are.

Henry takes Lucien home to his father, and there is a great scene in which father and son join in a hug.

I have to say that I found the novella heavy-going. The characters that I liked best were Squeaky and Bessie.
