Erika finds the man hogtied and gagged, and in his pocket she finds his identification and three polaroid photos. The identification shows that his name is Neville Lomas, a conservative Member of Parliament, and three photos show him in this flat in different positions, and these photos are signed Anabelle.
Two uniformed police officers arrive, Constables Dahlia Beck and Glenn Constable. The woman seems not to like Erika's presence. Erika sends her to tell Igor that she has been called, and the poor man stays to eat and then goes home.
When Erika is interviewing the receptionist of the building, a man who introduces himself as Superintendent Dan Fisk and another man appear. He tells Erika that this is his area and he will take over from her. Erika is not pleased, but she has no other option than leave.
At home she calls Igor and explains everything. He goes to hers, and he laughs when she tells him that she thought he was going to propose. What he wanted to tell her is that he and his ex-wife Denise have added Erika's name to the emergency contact list at Tom's school, and she will be able to pick him up or drop him off.
The next day Erika reads in the newspaper that the death of Lomas has been ruled as accidental when he was doing some sexual practice. As she reads about the man, she discovers that he has been accused of abuse in three different occasions but the allegations have never proceeded. Erika goes to the hospital for the postmortem, and Isaac tells her that his conlsuion is an open verdict as there is no evidence that it is accidental or murder.
Two months later after Erika has dropped Tom off at school, she gets a call about a dead body found in Greenwich. The man is the famous footballer Jamie League. When she gets there, she is told that his mother found him, and he is hogtied and gagged the same way as Lomas, and there are three photographs of the same kind and signed by Annabelle.
Erika talks to the mother, but she doesn't know any Annabelles and she says that her son was not in a relationship as far as she knew. Erika is surprised when Dahlia Beck appears, telling her that she has been promoted to plain clothes detective and she has been assigned to Lewisham.
In the station Erika informs everyone about Jamie's murder and how it is clearly linked to Lomas's death. Then Superintendent Marsh arrives, wanting to talk to Erika. He tells her that since the dead men are high profile, he wants another detective to be in charge as she is known to be a loose canon. Erika refuses, and her immediate boss Melanie tells Marsh that she has nobody of Erika's experience and intelligence to put in charge.
