The Ink Black Heart 2 (Pages 196 - 523)

SPOILERS!!!

There is an article in the newspaper, stating that the police think that a Neonazi group called The Halvening is behind Edie's murder. Josh has survived the attack but he has been left paralysed in one side of his body.

In the chats we discover that LordDrek and Vilepechora invented the dossier on purpose, but they claim that they just made a mistake. We don't know if they belong to the Neonazi group or if they killed Edie. Later they say something that makes me think that they are siblings. Morehouse is not happy about them being still as part of the fandom, and he tells Amonie that they need to be expelled, but Amonie turns a deaf ear to him.

Cormoran and Robin have a meeting with Edie's agent, Richard Elgar, the head of Marverick films, and Edie's uncle and aunt. What they want is for the detectives to find out who Amonie is, and this time they accept the case. They start investigating, and what they learn is that Edie and Josh met at some kind of art school, where they also rented rooms. The owner of the place is a Dutchman, Nilse de Yong. Cormoran and Barclay in their surveillance see Nils, his son Bram meeting some of the men who Edie sacked from their jobs as voices of the characters: Seb Montgomery, Wally Cardew and Tim Ashcroft. Sbe is the man who Edie suspected of being Anomie, and Wally also slashed Edie on his videos. During this surveillance Cormoran sees a girl who gets to the pub, clearly wanting to see the men but she was late. Then she had a conversation with someone and she recriminated that person not telling her about the meeting, and she also said that she gave him the alibi.

On Twitter Robin discovers that one girl posts entries against Edie. Her name is Kean Niver. She used to be Josh's girlfriend before he went out with Edie, and she claims that the ideas that are in the cartoon are ideas that she and Josh discussed when they were together. What annoys her is that Edie claimed that the idea of the cartoon was hers alone.

In the chats Morehouse and Paperwhite seem to have a virtual relationship. She has sent him photos, but he refuses to tell her his real name or send her a photo. Amonie knows about them because Papierwhite sent him a photo by mistake. Paperwhite is not happy to be kept in the dark about Morehouse, and when she asks him if he is disabled, he refuses to answer.

Robin is upset with Cormoran. Charlotte, his ex-fiancée, who is getting divorced. Her husband is going against Cormoran because she sent him a photo of her naked, and Jago found it. Charlotte comes to see him because she wants him to find something about Jago to stop his intentions, but Cormorankicks her out. When she is leaving, Robin is outside and Charlotte makes a comment about Cormoran dating Madeline, which Robin didn't know about.

Robin realises with the bomb Charlotte dropped that she is in love with Cormoran, and she thinks that the only thing she has to do is to fall out of love with him. Although Cormoran told Charlotte that he wouldn't do anything, he knows that if Jago drags him to court, he will be the focus of paparazzi and his detecting career will be over. So he decides he needs to find out something to stop Jago, so he has Dev and Mige on the case.

After some days with little contact, Cormoran and Robin go to see Katya, who is Josh's agent. She lives with her disabled husband and their two children. Inigo, her husband, is high-maintenance and someone difficult to live with. The son, Gus, is a virtuoso of the violin, but he has a problem with eccema, and there is a twelve-year-old daughter, who Cormoran and Robin agree seems to be the sanest in the family. The detectives learn that the person who gave Josh the dossier was Jasmine, who used to deal with fan mail at the beginning of the cartoon, but she was sacked when Edie discovered that she played Anomie's game and was even a moderator. So this means that Hartella is Jasmine.

Robin finally manages to enter the game when she asks Midge to ask her ex to give her username and password because the woman, Beth, used to play. When she manages to get into the game, it is clear that Beth is known, and she gets to talk to Worm28, who Robin thinks could be a girl or gay, Vilepechora, who Robin thinks could be part of the Neonazi gorup and Paperwhite.

Cormoran also talks to Edie's boyfriend, Phillip Ormond, who is a computing teacher but used to be a policeman. Phillip is not happy with the fact that Edie's uncle, who didn't  help her when she was living in the street, is now liable to inherit because Edie did not leave a will. When Cormoran asks him about the bruises that Robin saw on Edie's neck, the man is defensive. He claims that he knew about Edie meeting Josh that night but Cormoran thinks that he is lying.

This is getting more and more intriguing.
