After Vilepechora's attack, we discover that Vilepechora and LordDrek are brothers indeed, sons of a billionaire who ran for mayor of London. Vilepechora's name is Oliver Peach, and his brother is Charlie. After the attack, Morehouse is afraid because he fears that Anomie is the one who attacked him. He talks to Paperwhite, and they don't know what to do. If they go to the police, they could be in danger, and Paperwhite suggests he talk to the detectives that she has heard are investigating. In that conversation we discover that Morehouse's name is Vikas and Paperwhite's is Nicole.
Robin tries to find out more from Pez, which involves her getting flirty with him and letting him kiss her. She finds out that he was dropped in the cartoon because he has to travel to Liverpool often to look after his father. Then Robin stands outside Zoe's building and manages to get inside, and she discovers that Zoe/Worm28's boyfriend is Tim Ashcroft. They had previously discovered that Tim is Pen of Justice and he kept flirting with underaged girls, and Robin realises that Tim must have started his relationship with Tim when she was fourteen.
Then a bomb is sent to the office, and Pam realises that there is a hissing sound in the package, so she runs to Cormoran leaving the package behind. They survive but the office is left in a state. At Robin's invitation Cormoran agrees to spend the night in her sofabed but he lies to Madeline, who he has started to find unbearable since their argument the day of her jewellery launch. When she calls and hears Robin's voice, she gets very uspet and hangs up.
Robin and Cormoran discover that Inigo, Tanya's husband, is behind a website giving advice about chronic fatigue and he has had some kind of contact with Kea. The next day they follow him to his second home on the sea, and the man is angry, justifying himself, saying that there is nothing untoward between him and Kea, and he says that he has only seen her once.
Cormoran gets a call from the police, telling him that they have seen a man from the far-right group take photographs of Robin's house, so they decide to take rooms in the hotel. Robin tells him that she has found out who Fiend1 is. It is Rachel, Grant's daughter. Robin contacts her and the girl agrees to meet her in Leeds, where she lives. Cormoran and Robin travel there, and Robin goes to meet her. Rachel is a sixteen-year-old girl, and she tells her that she came into contact with the fandom through a virtual friend, Zolta, who ended up to be very vicious to her. She says that her best friend was Morehouse there because he was good to her and they share a love to science, but he got upset when she mistakenly revealed that he was disabled. Rachel tells Robin that Morehouse is a scientist at Cambridge University and his real name is Vikas Bhardwa. Through Vikas Robin and Cormoran can know who Amonie is, but I am afraid that something must have happened to him. In a previous chapter he was in conversation with Paperwhite and they agreed to leave the fandom, and they were about to facetime and he promised to tell her who Amonie was, but then someone knocked at the door. I am afraid that visit is suspect.
