Bet has an unexpected visitor. It is Lisa Crane, who used to be Conor's fiancée. The woman has married recently, and the reason why she comes to see Bet is to ask how and when Conor can be declared dead. Bet explains that it is seven years since Conor went missing, so the law allows a person to be declared dead after that length of time. Yet, Bet says taht since they weren't married, she needs to consult his family to start the procedure. Lisa feels bitter about the past and she tells Bet how humiliated she felt at being abandoned the day before her wedding. She needs to have Conor been declared dead because that way she can make use the house which they co-owned. It seems that she is not very happy with the information Ben gives her.
We get to know more about Ben. Her mother calls her, telling her that her father had a bad fall and was in the hospital for a while, and she wants Ben to visit her. Ben doesn't give her a straight answer, but she obviously doesn't want to go and see them. And her mum calls her Sarah, which she refuses to use. I am agog with curiosity to know more abotu Ben and her past.
