Lola Is Missing 2 (Pages 26 - 90)

SPOILERS!!!

Through the invesstigation we discover that Michelle, Lola's mother, is volatile and tends to be quite shallow. She claims that her ex-husband must have taken Lola, and she believes that he must be in Spain because ten years ago he used to work in Torrevieja and during their marriage he wanted to return and live there.

Michelle and Mark talk to Gavin's father, who claims not to know where his son is but he imagines that he ran away because he had the girl, but he knows he won't hurt her. They also talk to Gavin's half-brother, Andy, who is not very cooperative.

Michelle travels to Torrevieja and asks around but Gaving is not there. I have to say that the part about Michelle sunbathing and swimming in the pool in November doesn't sound true. Michelle goes through the pictures he took from Michelle's album, and there is one of the two brothers, and she realises that it is Portugal. So she travels there, and Gavin is there. He tries to run away, but with the help of the Portuguese he is arrested and Michelle takes him back to England. Gavin claims that he does not have Lola, and he left because he was crowded with everybody pointing their finger at him. Michelle thinks that he is telling the truth, but maybe he asked someone else to take the girl.

Then Mark discovers that Gavin's cousin, who the girl used to stay with, has a record in child abuse, so he is the next who they are going to question.

We discover that the man who keeps calling Rachel, Stuart Ritchie is her husband. She says that she married him 17 years ago and she didn't treat him well as she left without saying anything, and then she told her family never to tell him where she is. Now he has found her, and in the end she calls him and agrees to meet him. This part sounds quite childish for a woman like her. I don't understand why she didn't sort out things with him.
