This is the story of Huckleberry Finn and Jim, told from the perspective of Jim.
The novel takes place on Nantucket. Nantuckeis an island in Massachusetts about 48 km south of the Cape Cod peninsula. Nantucket is the southeasternmost town in both Massachusetts and the New England region. Nantucket is a tourist destination and summer colony. Due to tourists and seasonal residents, the population of the island increases to around 80,000 during the summer months.

The Hotel Nantucket has been closed for decades, but now Xavier Darling, a billionaire from London, has bought it and had it refurbished and redecorated.
The crime takes place in a house in Campden Hill, London. Campden Hill is a hill in Kensington, bounded by Holland Park Avenue on the north, Kensington High Street on the south, Kensington Palace Gardens on the east and Abbotsbury Road on the west.

This novel is about a TV programme that tries to solve the murder of Luke Ryder, which happened in 2003, ten years ago. The idea for the programma comes from Guy Howard, who was Luke's stepson and was ten at the time.
The murders take place on the Summer's Solstice. The summer solstice or estival solstice occurs when one of Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun.
The resort where the novel takes place is in near Kiruna in Northern Sweden. Kiruna is the northernmost city in Sweden, situated in the province of Lapland.
